Tuesday I registered for my first triathlon of the season! I have about 2 months to get ready so I'm back in the saddle - bike saddle that is, and back in the water (well, I will be after tomorrow) again. I'm really looking forward to the tri season this year because it will be the first summer in years when I have not been in the midst of one or several of the following: pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or caring for a baby. While my body has mostly recovered from the expanding and retracting caused by 3 pregnancies in 5 years, my kids' schedules have become a little more hectic with activities so getting in the training will still be a challenge
Overall, I'm hoping to get better at the tri sport - get faster, more efficient, and hopefully tackle an Olympic distance by the end of the summer. My goals are to improve my speed and endurance in each leg. This morning I started some running speed work, tomorrow is swimming, Saturday is a distance run. Training is never boring when working towards the tri sport! I love it and am so excited about the upcoming season! :)
